CGA Gymnastics Satellites
CGA Gymnastics Satellites was founded in July 2018, to help support the overwhelming demand for Cambridge Gymnastics Academy CIC. When Cambridge Gymnastics Academy opened their doors to a dedicated gymnastics facility in May 2016, they filled their recreational classes within a month and by January 2018 they had over 2000 children on their waiting lists. They have since developed their preschool programme and have incredibly talented youngsters ready to start recreational sessions each September, but with very little space to accommodate them. The whole ethos of the club is to enthuse a child into sport and to keep them for as many years as possible, not to tell them they no longer have a space. This is when company director Kayleigh Plaza came up with the idea of setting up satellite venues. This would then enable children moving up from pre-school and children on the waiting list to still be physically active and participating in gymnastics whilst waiting for a space at the ‘centre of excellence’. The other benefits of the satellite venues are that they are spread out around Cambridgeshire, making gymnastics accessible for more people, but also allowing us to talent spot gifted children.
CGA Gymnastics Satellites Ltd has been formed with 2 Directors, Kayleigh Plaza & Hannah McKenzie. Both with a strong vision to provide quality recreational gymnastics, increase employment and participation levels within the sport and educate more young people and mentor them through coaching qualifications.
The club is a registered member of both British Gymnastics and Eastern Counties Gymnastics Association and has a number of fully qualified coaches who are DBS checked, safeguard & first aid qualified.
The club has adopted the BG policies for Child Protection, Equality and Codes of Conduct. All officials, coaches, members and parents must adhere to these policies.
